Chandrayaan-3: India had created history with the successful landing of Chandrayaan-3 on the south pole of the Moon on 23 August 2023. Now former ISRO Chairman AS Kiran has said a big thing regarding the lander Vikram and Pragyan Rover which made successful landing on the moon.
Former ISRO Chairman AS Kiran, while indicating the end of Chandrayaan-3 mission, claimed that there is no hope of Vikram Lander and Rover Pragyan being activated again. Recently, ISRO had tried to establish contact with its lander and rover sent to the moon.
‘Rover and lander not expected to be activated’
Former ISRO Chief, who was associated with Chandrayaan-3 mission, said, ‘There is absolutely no hope of reactivation of Pragyan rover and lander Vikram, because if it had to be activated, it would have happened by now.’
On September 22, a month after the successful landing on the Moon, an attempt was made to contact Chandrayaan-3’s lander and rover, but they did not receive any signal yet.
What was achieved by this mission?
Former ISRO Chief AS Kiran further said, “What we have achieved in this mission is that we have reached an area (South Pole) where no one has been able to reach. This is really very useful information.” After the success of Chandrayaan-3, it will be very helpful in planning the future missions.
Will get benefits in future
The former ISRO chief talked about starting a mission to bring samples from the Moon, but did not give any time limit for it. The former ISRO Chief further said, “ISRO has achieved the soft landing of Chandrayaan-3.” Now there will definitely be missions in future when goods will be picked up from there and brought back. Many types of plans will be made in this regard in future.
