Dick Van Dyke uses walking stick during rare outing with wife Arlene Silver | Celebrity News | Showbiz & TV

Dick Van Dyke, 97, made a very special public appearance as he attended the opening of a new exhibition featuring the works of his longtime photographer Laura Johansen.

Moments In Time Portraits By Laura Johansen will focus on the last ten years of Dick’s life, and he attended the opening with his wife Arlene Silver, 52, and his children by his side.

The Hollywood legend looked healthier than ever as he wore a tweed blazer with black pants, a white dress shirt, black pants and matching sneakers.

The Mary Poppins star looked very amused as he was seen walking on his own with a little help from a walking stick.

Arlene, who has been married to Dick for more than 11 years, looked stunning in an all-black ensemble that included a plunging top.

One of his four children, Barry Van Dyke, was also seen supporting his father and Johansen’s photography.

This comes as it was announced that CBS would be airing a special on the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang actress just before Christmas.

Titled Dick Van Dyke 98 Years Of Magic, the show will look back on the screen legend’s storied career and will air a week after Dick reportedly celebrates his 98th birthday Deadline.

CBS has a special connection with Dick, having aired his comedy show The Dick Van Dyke Show in the 1960s.

Dick said in a statement about the happy news: “I started with CBS under contract in 1955 with the CBS morning show, then The Dick Van Dyke Show and Diagnosis Murder.

“I’ve been with the CBS family for almost 70 years, and I couldn’t be prouder.

“I’m honored that CBS will be throwing me a 98th birthday special. I can’t wait to be a part of the show!”

The special will also feature old footage, which includes some of the highlights of his extensive career on stage, film and television.

The actor shows no signs of slowing down either, having appeared on The Masked Singer and Days Of Our Lives this year.
