“Thanks for joining us yesterday @karendotrice!” he signed off.

The legendary actor met his Mary Poppins co-star almost 60 years after the original film was released.

In the long-awaited 2018 sequel, Mary Poppins Returns, he made a cameo as Mr. Dawes Jr. opposite lead stars Emily Blunt and Lin-Manuel Miranda.

Last week, US network CBS announced that it would be honoring Dick’s decades-long career with a new special, Dick Van Dyke 98 Years of Magic.

The televised event will be broadcast on December 21, just a week after his 98th birthday on December 13.

In a statement, the legendary actor said: “I started with CBS under contract in 1955 with the CBS morning show, then The Dick Van Dyke Show and Diagnosis Murder.

“I’ve been with the CBS family for almost 70 years, and I couldn’t be prouder.

“I am honored that CBS will be throwing me a special 98th birthday. Can’t wait to be part of the show!”

The CBS tribute series will revive The Dick Van Dyke Show with “music and dance, performances, special guests and a special holiday number,” per Deadline.

There will be a retrospective of his career on the big and small screen with archive footage from the likes of Mary Poppins, Bye Bye Birdie, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang and many more.

Mary Poppins is streaming on Disney+.
