Closing Bell: Nifty-Sensex closed with a fall
Bad global signals spoiled the mood of the market and finally Nifty-Sensex closed with a decline. In today’s trading there was light buying in small cap stocks. There was selling in energy, auto, pharma stocks while PSU bank and realty indices closed on the rise. There was pressure in PSE, Metal, FMCG shares.
At the end of trading, the Sensex closed at 65,512.10 with a decline of 316.31 points or 0.48 percent. Whereas Nifty closed at the level of 19528.75 with a fall of 109.55 points or 0.56 percent.
ONGC, Eicher Motors, Hindalco Industries, Maruti Suzuki and Dr Reddy’s Laboratories were the top Nifty losers. Whereas Titan Company, Bajaj Finance, L&T, Bajaj Finserv and SBI were the top gainers of Nifty.
FMCG, Auto, Power, Metal and Oil & Gas indices closed with losses of 0.5-1 per cent. Whereas the PSU Bank index closed with a gain of 2.3 percent. The Capital Goods Index closed 1 percent higher. Whereas BSE Midcap index closed flat. Whereas the smallcap index closed with a gain of 0.6 percent.
