Hockey- India eliminated Singapore from the medal race
On the third day, India made a good start by defeating Singapore 16-1 in hockey in the Asian Games. Harmanpreet Singh scored 4 goals and Mandeep Singh scored 3 goals for India. Apart from these, Varun Kumar and Abhishek scored 2 goals each.
Judo: Two players reached quarter finals
Two players have kept their medal hopes alive in Judo. Tulika Mann has reached the quarter-finals in 75 kg weight. India’s Avtar Singh has also reached the men’s 100 kg quarter-finals. He will face Djafar Kostov of UAE in the quarter-finals.
Fencing: Bhavani Devi reached pre-quarter finals
Bhavani Devi has kept her hopes of a medal in Asian Games in fencing intact. She has reached the pre-quarterfinals in individual saber.
Shooting: 10 meter air rifle mixed team finished fourth
In 10 meter air rifle mixed, Ramit and Divyansh Singh had to face defeat in the bronze medal event. However, the hope of a medal in 10 meter air pistol remains intact. Manu Bhaker’s event is yet to happen.
Six medals came on the second day, two of them gold
Indian players won 6 medals on the second day of Asiad. These include two gold and 4 bronze. Indian women’s team and rifle shooting men’s team won gold for the country. Got two bronze each from shooting and rowing. On the first day, Indian players had won 5 medals including 3 silver and 2 bronze.
wushu: Surya Bhanu Pratap and Suraj Yadav will play the quarter final match. If they win, they will take part in the semi-finals and finals.
