Shubman Gill Dengue Positive: World Cup 2023 has started. India’s first match in this is against Australia which will be played on Sunday. This is bad news for Indian fans first. Opener Shubman Gill has become a victim of dengue. According to a report in Indian Express, Shubman may also be out of the match against Australia. But currently no official information has been received from the Board of Control for Cricket in India regarding this.
A match between India and Australia is to be played in Chennai. Before this, Team India is practicing at MA Chidambaram Stadium. But Shubham did not participate in the practice. He was tested for dengue, which came back positive. Shubman is currently under the supervision of management and doctors. He will be examined again on Friday. If Shubman’s recovery goes well, he can play in the match against Australia. But if he does not recover, he will be ruled out of the first match against Australia.
The Indian team will be looking for an alternative to Shubman. India have two options in the form of Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul. KL Rahul may be given a chance along with captain Rohit Sharma. Talking about KL Rahul, he has already opened 16 ODI matches for India. Meanwhile he has scored 669 runs.
The first match of World Cup 2023 was played between England and New Zealand. New Zealand won by 9 wickets. India’s first match is against Australia. It will be played in Chennai on Sunday. The match between India and Pakistan will be played on October 14.
