WhatsApp Payment Feature: Meta-owned instant messaging app WhatsApp has recently rolled out a new update, after which WhatsApp users will be able to make online payments using the UPI app, debit card, credit card and net banking.

A blog post by WhatsApp said that we are going to bring you a feature through which you can easily make purchases while chatting. From today, people in India can add items to their cart and pay using any method of their choice like debit and credit cards through all UPI apps running in India.
The WhatsApp blog further stated that WhatsApp is happy to partner with Razorpay and PayU to make paying for anything as easy as sending a message. The UPI app now includes Google Pay, PhonePe, Paytm and many more. Earlier users could make payments on WhatsApp through these apps, but only after being redirected outside of WhatsApp, but this will no longer be required.
100 million users use the WhatsApp payment feature
According to information provided by WhatsApp, WhatsApp has 500 million users in India, but only 100 million users use WhatsApp Pay. In such a situation, WhatsApp has added a new feature for this major change. Let us tell you that till now WhatsApp end to end shopping was available in Jio Mart and Chennai and Bangalore metro system. In such a situation, the new feature of WhatsApp will facilitate adding more options for payment.
