Thousands of people on the streets against Chinese projects in Indonesia

Jakarta, 19th: China is becoming notorious all over the world for its regionalist policies and for trapping other countries in its debt trap. Due to this policy of China, many countries have fallen into debt. However, other countries are now understanding China’s manipulation. As in Indonesia, people have taken to the streets against China. Thousands of people from an island in Indonesia took to the streets and demonstrated against China. People fear that the Chinese project will displace thousands of people on the island.

The protests and demonstrations were so fierce that the government had to deploy a special police force to control the situation.

The Indonesian government is developing its Sempang island as a special economic zone with a loan from China. But local people are against this plan. A large glass factory is to be set up on the island, but it will displace 7,500 people. During his visit to China, the President of Indonesia took an investment promise of 11 billion dollars from the Chinese company. However, there is a lot of opposition to the Chinese project.

However, protests against China are not new. Even before this, in countries like Philippines, Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam, people have been busy with their anger against China. China is showing bully against these countries in the South China Sea.
