Nepotism is often discussed in Bollywood. There are allegations against the big film makers of the industry that they give star kids more opportunities than debutants in their films. Kangana Ranaut had opened a front against him years ago. However, whether any filmmaker, producer director gives a chance to any star kid, it totally depends on his work and audience whether he can establish his foot in the industry or not.
Fardeen Khan, Abhishek Bachchan is one of those starkids of Bollywood, whose work is always compared to his father. But, there are some starkids in the industry who have to work very hard for their work. Here is Rohan Mehra, son of late actor Vinod Mehra, who was a superstar of his time, who has been trying to establish his footing in the industry for years.
While Vinod Mehra was a superstar of his time, he worked with many veteran filmmakers. Big filmmakers wanted to work with him, while Rohan Mehra is worried about working in the industry. Rohan has to struggle a lot in the industry.
Rohan Mehra is currently in the limelight for his web series Kaala. Rohan is playing an important role in this web series which was released in September. He is playing the role of Indian Army officer Shubhendu in this series. Kaala stars Avinash Tiwari in the lead role, who plays an IB officer.
Earlier, Rohan was seen in the film ‘Bazaar’, but after this, nothing much has changed for him in the market of the industry. He had neither a special offer nor a job. Rohan continued to give three auditions a day for three years. Even after this there was a lot of delay in getting work. Rohan says he had to wait for a long time after the market. According to Rohan, this does not mean it is selective. Even after this he did not get work. The actor said- ‘I am not selective, I gave many auditions, but still the work got delayed.’
Speaking on nepotism, Rohan said, ‘I agree that there is nepotism in the industry, but not in my case. I have neither benefited nor suffered from nepotism. Whatever work I have got so far has been based on my ability. Because neither my father is in this world to recommend me nor have I ever introduced my father to myself.
