Students who have failed in class 10th can now take the supplementary examination of three subjects
Government decision in the interest of students
Ahmedabad, Date 13: Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel has taken some important decisions in the interest of the students of the state. In which the students who have passed in class 10 will be able to take three subjects instead of two subjects and students who have passed in class 12 general stream will be able to give supplementary examination of two subjects. These decisions will be implemented from the academic year 2023-24.
These decisions were taken in a high-level meeting held under the chairmanship of the CM under the National Education Policy 2020 announced by the Central Government under the leadership of PM Modi. Education Minister Kuberbhai Dindor, Minister of State for Education Prafulbhai Panseria, Chief Secretary Rajkumar and Chief Principal Secretary K. These decisions have been taken in a meeting held between Kailashanathan and senior secretaries.
Re-examination of all subjects of Class-12 science stream to be held in June-July month. Students who have passed in the 1st Science stream can re-examine all subjects or as many subjects as they want to improve their results. Out of the two exams, the result of which is higher (Best of Two) will be accepted.
Supplementary examination of three subjects will be conducted instead of the supplementary examination of two subjects for students who have failed in class-10.
Supplementary examination of two subjects will be conducted instead of one subject supplementary examination for students who have passed in class-12th general stream.
In the Class-10 and Class-12 general stream board exams, the percentage of objective questions will be 30% instead of the present 20% and the percentage of descriptive questions will be increased from 80% to 70%.
It was also decided in this meeting to maintain 50 percent MCQ (0MR) in the board examination of Class-12 science stream and to give general option in all questions instead of internal option in 50 percent descriptive questions.
