Today i.e. 19th September 2023, all the stock exchanges of the country will remain closed and trading will be closed on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi. Trading in BSE i.e. Bombay Stock Exchange and NSE i.e. National Stock Exchange will remain closed. The official information regarding this is given on BSE website bseindia.com and in the list of official holidays, the holiday is written from September 19 onwards.

Only one stock market holiday in September

Ganesh Chaturthi 2023 is the only holiday in September on which the stock market will be closed. Now the next holiday in the stock market will be on 2 October 2023, which is Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti. Last month, the stock market was closed for the last time on August 15, which marks the country’s Independence Day.

equity, Derivatives and commodity segments will also have a holiday today

Today, on the occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi, trading will be closed in equity segment as well as derivative segment and commodity segment. Apart from this, as per the stock market holiday list, the currency derivatives segment will also not trade on September 19. There will also be no movement in commodity and electronic gold receipts (EGR).

Commodity derivatives segment will trade in the evening session.

While the commodity derivatives segment which will be closed from 9 am to 5 pm, will open for 5 evening sessions from 5 pm to 5 pm. Therefore, there will be no trading in the commodity derivatives segment from 9 am to 5 pm but it will continue in the session from 5 am to 11.30 am.
