Stock Market Closing, 18th September 2023: Today the share market once again witnessed a bearish mood, the market ended the business day with sluggish business. Both stock market indices closed lower. BSE’s index Sensex ended the day down 0.36 percent or 241.79 points at 67,596.84. Along with this, Nifty also saw a decline. At the end of the business day, the NSE Nifty declined 0.29 percent to close at 20,133.30, down 59.05 points. Thus today both the indices closed with a decline, during the day sluggish business was seen in the market.
Sensex-Nifty closes lower
Today, on the first day of the week, the business in the stock market has closed with a decline. Today was not a special day for the market and the trading trend was seen in the red zone throughout the day. Nifty ended trading lower in 8 out of 12 sectors today. PSUs and private banks have spoiled the market mood today and power stocks are witnessing record gains and they are adding some sparkle to the market.
Smallcap index continued to decline today
The smallcap index saw further declines with only 860 shares trading with gains and 1367 shares trading with losses on the NSE. While Bank Nifty could not maintain the level of 46,000 today.

The BSE Sensex closed down 241.79 points or 0.36 per cent at 67,596.84 in today’s trade. Apart from this, NSE’s Nifty closed down 59.05 points or 0.29 per cent at 20,133.30.
Bank Nifty lost the 46,000 level
The Bank Nifty failed to break the 46,000 level today and closed down 252 points or 0.54 percent at 45980.
