In fact, sometimes after eating food, serotonin starts to be produced quickly, which makes a person feel sleepy. Serotonin is a hormone that controls many body functions. It also acts as an antidepressant in the body. Serotonin is produced from protein. Cheese, soybeans and eggs are high protein foods also called tryptophan.
