‘New York no longer has room for tourists’
Thousands of immigrants are flocking to New York City in search of a better life and more opportunities. But he is facing a crisis of livelihood and has become a huge burden on the administration. More than 60,000 of the 118,000 migrants who arrived in New York City since last year are housed in the city’s shelter system, but officials are struggling to meet their needs.
Mayor Eric Adams has called it a humanitarian crisis that could destroy New York City. Most immigrants came to New York from South American and West African countries in hopes of safety, work and stability. But arranging accommodation in a new city is not an easy task for both the migrants and the administration. In fact, migrants are usually accommodated in hotels, offices, houses and school gyms. But now the city administration is running out of options to accommodate her.
‘Biden administration responsible for chaos’
Mayor Adams claims immigrants cost $12 billion over three years. At the same time, both Eric Adams and New York Governor Cathy have blamed the Joe Biden administration for creating the migration crisis and not providing them with enough aid. An immigrant woman says she doesn’t know if New York is a good place to start a new life. He said that living here is a big problem. So maybe this is not a good place to stay.
