Mib expected to rise on first day of year

(Alliance News) – The Mib is expected to open higher on Monday on the first trading day of the new year which sees the main Asian exchanges, those of London and New York closed .

The FTSE Mib, therefore, is expected to open in the green with 145 points or 0.6 percent after closing Friday in the red with 1.5 percent to 23,706.96, thus ending 2022 with a contraction of more than 13 percent. On the annual range, the low of 20,183 is remembered while the highest was 28,212.39.

In Europe, the CAC 40 of Paris is expected to increase by 57.3 points or 0.9 percent while the DAX 40 of Frankfurt is given 157 points or 1.1 percent.

On the macro front, Italian, French, German and eurozone manufacturing purchasing managers’ indexes are expected in the morning.

Among the smaller lists on Friday, the Mid-Cap closed down 1.1 percent at 39,374.15, the Small-Cap rose slightly above 27,739.53 while the Italian Growth ended up 0.1 percent at 9,250.52.

In Milan, on the main list of Piazza Affari, Amplifon also closed in the red after being the only bullish stock for most of the session-falling 0.2 percent at the final bell.

Telecom Italia, on the other hand, gave up 3.8 percent, a turn down after two sessions closed in the green.

Enel closed up 1.4 percent after announcing that Enel Brasil, a subsidiary through Chilean listed company Enel Américas, has finalized the sale of its entire stake in Brazilian energy distribution company CELG Distribuição CELG D, amounting to approximately 99.9 percent of the share capital of the latter, to Equatorial Participações e Investimentos, a subsidiary of Equatorial Energia.

Another major State player, Eni, is also in the red. The stock of the six-legged dog – down 2.3 percent – reported on Thursday that Plenitude, through its American subsidiary Eni New Energy US, acquired the 81 MW Kellam photovoltaic plant located in -North Texas, 50 miles from the Dallas Fort Worth metropolitan complex. The plant, sold by Hanwha Qcells USA, joins the other assets in Texas and the rest of the United States in the Plenitude portfolio, which with this transaction reaches an installed capacity of 878 MW in – the American market. The plant is built on more than 150 hectares of land and the energy produced will be sold to a local energy company.

In the cadet segment, Cembre gave up 1.6 percent, after a 1.6 percent increase in the previous session.

Tod’s, on the other hand, lost 2.0 percent, after the increase of 1.5 percent on the eve.

Tinexta closed with 1.7 percent. The company announced Wednesday the signing of a binding agreement to acquire a 20 percent stake in the Defense Tech Holding Benefit Company through a wholly owned vehicle.

On the bullish side of the list, buying on Wiit, which closed ahead 2.0 percent, triggering its third consecutive session on the bullish side.

Ariston Holding also did well, advancing by 2.3 percent, and repeating the green of the evening with 1.6 percent.

On the small cap side, Seri Industrial closed up 3.6 percent. The stock recorded unusually high volume with more than 237,000 pieces traded over a three-month average of about 87,000.

Landi Renzo, on the other hand, rose 2.0 percent on the heels of a 1.1 percent green gain on eve.

Conafi gave up 2.3 percent, ending for the third consecutive session on the bearish side.

Next Re finished with 0.9 percent. The company recently announced that a final purchase and sale agreement has been signed with IHC Verona Srl, a company subject to the management and coordination of AHC International Consulting AG, regarding the hotel property located in Verona, for a sale price of EUR7.4 million plus. tax.

Among the SMEs, Alfonsino closed 3.9 percent, and retraced after Thursday’s green with 8.4 percent.

Almawave, on the other hand, rose by 0.8 percent, after a rise of 0.7 percent in the previous session.

Pharmacosmo took home an asset of more than 11 percent, after also closing in the green on the eve of the session although with 0.5 percent. The stock traded higher, with more than 89,000 changing hands compared to a three-month average of 18,700.

In New York on Friday, the Dow Jones closed 0.2 percent in the red at 33,147.25, the S&P finished negative 0.3 percent at 3,839.50, and the Nasdaq gave up 0.1 percent at 10,466.48.

In Asia on Friday, the Nikkei closed fractionally in the green at 26,094.50, the Shanghai Composite was down 0.5 percent at 3,089.26, and the Hang Seng was up 0.2 percent. at 19,781.41.

Among currencies, the euro changed hands at USD1.0685 against USD1.0686 at Friday’s close. In contrast, the pound is worth USD1.2075 from USD1.2058 on Friday evening.

Among commodities, Brent crude cost USD85.91 per barrel from USD83.94 per barrel on Friday night.

Gold, on the other hand, traded at USD1,824.02 per ounce from USD1,815.34 per ounce on Friday night.

On Monday’s economic calendar, at 0945 CET, Italy’s manufacturing purchasing managers’ index will be released, then five minutes later France’s, then Germany’s, and at 1000 CET comes that of the euro zone.

Among the companies in Piazza Affari, no particular announcements are expected.
