India squad for World Cup announced: Ashwin included

– Akshar Patel still injured out of the team

– Suryakumar Yadav showing form, he also got an entry: Three spinners in the team

New Delhi: India’s squad for the ODI World Cup has been announced in which off-spinner R. Ashwin has been included and batsman Suryakumar Yadav has also got a place.

Spinner all-rounder Akshar Patel was injured during the Bangladesh match in the Asia Cup and has not been fit till date, giving Ashwin a chance. Ashwin was not included in the provisional squad announced before the World Cup and the team management chose spinner all-rounder Akshar Patel citing batting depth. However, apart from Ashwin, Chahal was left out, so especially Ashwin was dropped, so the fans expressed their displeasure with surprise as Ashwin can also bat. He took 4 wickets in two matches against Australia.

Although Ashwin was not in India’s ODI team for 18 months, he was in the 2011 and 2015 World Cup squads but could not make it to the 2019 World Cup.

Suryakumar Yadav won the hearts of the selection committee with his explosive batting in the second ODI against Australia.

There are two players from India who will play the World Cup in 2011 and 2023. The experience of Kohli and Ashwin will also benefit the Indian team.

Washington Sundar will now go to China for the cricket event of the Asian Games.
