It has started raining in Rajkot since two days but it is raining slowly. People are loving this rain now, but the health system has become confused due to the fear of increasing mosquito-borne diseases. According to the health department, mosquitoes that spread dengue, chikungunya lay their eggs in clean water. Due to this reason, mosquitoes breed in open pits, garbage and other places. Even if such confined water is emptied, the eggs remain attached to its surface.
These eggs stay dormant for a long time. When it rains or becomes waterlogged, it becomes active and becomes larvae and mosquitoes within a short time. Due to the current rains, open containers, debris, tires will be filled with water. Mosquito eggs attached to it can activate and spread more diseases. If there is heavy rain, the water level will increase and the eggs will also be washed away, thus stopping the breeding.
