A person in Kanpur (Uttarpradesh) filed a case against Mahindra & Mahindra chairman Anand Mahindra (chairman Anand Mahindra) and 13 employees of his company. The victim had alleged that the accused had cheated him. After the complaint, a case was registered at Raipurwa Police Station in Kanpur. However, after two days this matter has been clarified on behalf of the company and this has been clarified.
What was the matter?
According to the police, the victim Rajesh had told in the complaint that he gifted a Scorpio car to one of his sons, Apoorva Mishra. On 14-Jan-2022, his son Apoorva was returning from Lucknow to Kanpur with friends in the same vehicle… when the vehicle hit a divider due to fog and Apoorva died in the incident.
Even though the seat belt was fastened, the airbag did not deploy
According to the complaint, he bought the car from Tirupati Automobiles, after which he took the vehicle to the showroom on January 29 and told about the defect in the car… He alleged that despite the seat belt being fastened, the airbag did not deploy. He has been cheated by the company and sold this car to him. The victim, Rajesh, said that if the vehicle had been checked properly, his son would not have died.
The company was accused of beatings and threats
The victim had alleged that while talking about the defect, the employees of the company quarreled with him. The victim alleged that the manager and employees of the company misbehaved with him and his family at the behest of the directors and threatened to kill him. Then the Scorpio was picked up and parked in front of the showroom of Mahindra company. Rajesh claims that the company has not installed airbags in the vehicle.

An FIR was registered in this matter on 23 September 2023. The company said the FIR alleged that the vehicle did not have airbags. We would like to clarify here that the Scorpio S9 variant had airbags. We have investigated the matter and found no fault with the airbag. Our team conducted a thorough investigation in October 2022. The case is currently under the Judiciary and we are committed to extend our full cooperation.
