Dengue, malaria, cold and cough patients are reaching the hospital every day. Amid the dengue and malaria outbreaks, the mumps virus is also on the attack. This virus is spreading rapidly among children. The disease is seen in children up to 12 years.

500 to 700 new patients of mumps virus are coming in Surat every day.

Surat: 500 to 700 new patients are coming every day in private hospitals along with civil and smeer hospitals. Once the disease is affected, the doctor is advising to keep the children in isolation for 5 days. The virus spreads rapidly from one child to another. The disease has spread rapidly in the last 10-15 days. On the other hand, more than 200 dengue and malaria patients are coming to government and private hospitals every day. Dengue patients have quadrupled and malaria patients have doubled in three months. More than three thousand cases of both diseases have been reported in three months.

“Children suffering from cold, cough and fever along with inflammation around the throat and ears due to mumps virus are reaching the hospital. This infectious disease is spreading from one child to another. Sick children are advised to be kept in isolation. Most of these doctors are getting two to three new patients every day. 3 out of every 10 patients are infected with mumps virus. After infection, the patient can also infect other children for 5 days, so it is advised to isolate the infected child for 5 days. Mild cold, cough and fever, swelling around the throat and ears, severe pain in the throat with swelling, pain and swelling in the testicles of children, loss of appetite, abdominal pain are all symptoms of this disease.
