From today, new work made by young Romanian artists, with the support of glo™, is available for viewing. Reverse perspective is the work created by Andrei Bălan and Maria Bălan, an art installation that can be seen in an exhibition space located in Calea Victoriei no. 91-93, until 7 February. The installation is also visible from outside the exhibition space, so you cannot miss it if you go for a relaxing walk in the center of Bucharest.

A different perspective

Reverse Perspective is an art installation consisting of 7 pyramids. As you pass in front of the work, you discover that the sides that appear in front are actually in the back, giving the effect of a reverse perspective. Each of the 7 pyramids presents, in an artistic way, Hyper X2, the latest device launched by glo™ in Romania.

Thus, with each closer look at the work, you become more and more curious about how it was made, interpreting it in a personal way. The gallery also exhibits other works of art, installations and paintings by the artists Andrei Bălan, Maria Bălan, Vlad Șerban and Cezar Stanciu, about which you can find out more details inside the exhibition.

#RWAC, the initiative that supports creative communities and young artists

The Reverse Perspective is positioned at the intersection of architecture, perspective drawing, but also the experiment of textures and colors in the modern field of painting.

The work required ingenuity, but also kindness, a month of work together by the sculptor Andrei Bălan, together with the graphic artist Maria Bălan.

“The experience of creating the work Reversed Perspective was a unique and very interesting one. I had the opportunity to put to work not only the graphic designer part of me, but also the architect part, which is gratifying because often in my projects the experience of the six years of architecture school is a strength that brings me closer to the desired result. Another very cool aspect of this project was that I could see the reverse perspective effect only at the final moment of installation. So it was a continuous surprise of what I consider to be a very successful project”, he tells us Maria Balan.

Maria is a graphic artist, engraver and street artist, studied graphics at the University of Art and architecture at the University of Architecture and Urbanism “Ion Mincu” and combines gallery art with the street art. You can find his small interventions in the paste up technique, but also larger murals in the streets of Bucharest, Brașov or Iași.

Andrei Bălan is a graduate of the Ion Mincu University of Architecture in Bucharest and the Nicolae Grigorescu University of Arts in Bucharest and entered the exhibition scene in 2019, with a large personal exhibition in Hanul Gabroveni. This first exhibition, accompanied by the release of an album and site, has been moved to several cities in the country and part of it will also reach Berlin. His projects combine sculpture, graphics, performance, videomapping, but also sound incursions, seeking the fusion of art, sound sculpture and modeling matter.

glo™’s collaboration with young artists, under the #RebelsWithACause initiative, continues in 2023. Rebels with a cause is intended to support the artistic community in Romania through various projects that generate new perspectives and meanings. Some examples of such programs are Eco Graffiti – the artists created 7 murals in Bucharest, beautifying the city; Call for artists – at big events like Electric Castle or Summerwell, the brand invites talented young DJs to express themselves in the glo™ space; Creative Camp – offered young musicians the opportunity to meet in sessions with well-known Romanian artists, as well as the performances of Irina Dragomir and Mihai Mureșan as part of Art Safari 2022.

The work Reverse Perspective can be seen until February 7, on Calea Victoriei no. 91-93. Discover more details and surprises on the Instagram page @glo_romania and on
