‘Japan’ collected ₹2.4 crore on the first day as per early estimates as it clashed with ‘Jigarthanda DoubleX’ at the box office, according to website Sacnilk.
Raju Murugan directed the Tamil film ‘Japan,’ starring Karthi, Sunil, Anu Emmanuel, and KS Ravikumar. The storyline focuses on a heist that is staged at the residence of a prominent politician.
Tamil had a total occupancy of 25.42% in Japan on Friday.
According to Sacnilk, during the morning shows, ‘Japan’ gave an audience share of 21.33%. As the day progressed, the momentum continued to increase, reaching 22.29% in the afternoon shows and rising further to 25.07% during the afternoon demo. The night shows had the highest number of viewers, achieving an impressive 32.98%.
“The movie Diwali Japan has a lukewarm opening on the first day. Morning and evening shows were bad,” wrote user Vigal NJ on X.
